Early Spring

This photo was taken on a trip to the Pacific ocean in the middle of February, during a mild false spring. Two days later a winter storm brought snow to the mountains of northern California, and we stepped back into winter again. The tide was high on the Sunday afternoon that I took this picture, and the waves crashed against the rocks near the shore in an impressive display. I could have spent the entire day watching them. What do you think of when you see this image?
