I am not a huge fan of science fiction, but this sounds too good to miss. The Flight of the Silvers (2014), by Daniel Price, is more than just another scifi/dystopian nightmare. In the introductory book of a series, sisters Hannah and Amanda encounter three powerful strangers who arrive in San Diego to slip silver bracelets onto their arms, and within minutes Earth as they know it has dissolved before their eyes. They have been saved, and transported to another version of San Diego, one they don’t recognize, where time travel is a routine function.
They are joined by four other unique and unlikely companions who have also been saved, and together they discover unwanted powers beyond their status as survivors. They can manipulate time. The six go in search of someone who can save them from the others who hunt them: the government, and others like them, before it is too late. This tale is different from similar stories in that there is no return to what was. It provides a different interpretation of the paranormal.
